Powerful inverter controlled AC motors produce high torque at low speeds, insuring smooth starting, creeping, and grade climbing. The drive motor temporarily becomes a generator to replenish battery when the travel direction is reversed while moving, and when the accelerator is released before applying the brakes. All motors have dedicated fans and special anti-vibration polymer mounts for cool, quiet operation. Also, AC motors have no brushes to maintain, and no contactors to burn out. Battery voltages may be 36 or 48 volts. Self diagnostics simplify trouble shooting and maintenance.
100% solid state AC inverter type controllers deliver precise motor control and everyday operating reliability. The MOS-FET design saves power in the drive circuit and improves accelerator response time. Four controller settings can be adjusted: the super/power/economy setting, speed control, tilting speed, and the attachment speed. Self diagnostics simplify trouble shooting and maintenance.
Your investment and employees are protected by sophisticated TCM drive monitoring. A low voltage produces a warning, and a major device short circuit stops the truck. A high controller temperature or a high drive motor temperature automatically limits travel passing current as required. The direction switch neutral safety prevents unintended travel when the key is first turned on. A dead man seat switch prevents unintended operation if the operator leaves the seat. The power steering contactor operates only when the directional neutral switch and seat switch safety parameters are met.
TCM has designed these masts to give unobstructed view of the fork tips, maximum control, and long service life. Rugged precision ball bearings deliver smooth operation while telescoping. The standard flow control valve restricts the lowering speed of the mast in the event hose pressure is lost. Tilt lock is standard, and optional lift lock prevents the forks from lowering if the key is off. Available integrated sideshifters maximize carrying capacity.
Hydraulic circuits and components have been improved and simplified to reduce leaks and oil operating temperature. The gear-type main pump draws from a side-mounted oil tank with replaceable suction and return filters. 3 direct-acting hydraulic controls are standard to operate lift cylinders and double-acting tilt cylinders. 2 additional OEM direct-acting controls or 2 after market solenoid valves can be also fitted. An adjustable relief valve gives overpressure protection. Check valves automatically prioritize pressure distribution under simultaneous multiple valve operations. Tilt lock valves give smooth mast tilt operation in both directions. A lift cylinder cut off valve restricts mast lowering speeds for safety.
TCM brakes are the largest in their class in the industry. They deliver smooth and reliable operation in continuous use, and will not overheat even in high cycle applications. The automotive-type brakes are a duo-servo type, and actually generate a braking force greater than the wheel cylinder operating force. They are asbestos free and are designed for easy servicing. The master cylinder is engineered to maintain proper pressure and to prevent fluid leaks and vapor lock. The hand operated toggle-type parking brake is dash mounted.
